The Cleveland 1982SJL jobber length powdered-metal steel drill bit has a 30-degree helix angle, with a 135-degree notched-point drill point and Titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) surface treatment, which is designed for high performance material-specific (cast iron) drilling applications. The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. While the 1982SJL also known as Q-PM series can be used on most materials, it is most suitable for drilling into cast iron. Spiral flutes act as a passageway for chip extraction from the hole and for coolant to enter the hole. Right-hand twist brings chips up and away from the cutting edge. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of tool holding systems. 135-degree notched-point drill point works well for hard and tough materials.
